1/2 Birthday

July 25, 2008 by Alison Hodgson Leave a Comment

Well Eden’s 1/2 birthday or “fake birthday” as Torey called it is almost over.  She had a wonderful party.  Normally Paul and I double team for parties, but he wasn’t able to come home and I hadn’t expected him to, but he was missed.  Torey was here, but she was busy with Willa Z. who was refusing a nap.

When Paul got home from work he offered to take all the hellions (including Ren who is having a sleep over) to McDonald’s for dinner so I could decompress.  I said whoopee thank you and passed out as soon as they left.  I haven’t left our bed since.  I’m contemplating one last foray to get the Legumes in bed, but I don’t know if I have what it takes.

Christopher and I were there too.

I asked Charlie to take my picture with Birdie.  That’s her purse in the foreground.  She is not quite 11 and not quite 5′ 4″.  Isn’t she lovely?

I love this face.

Here’s Torey with her matter of fact smile.  Willa is trying to eat this napkin.  She succeeds.

I’ve been meaning to post some pictures of Torey’s birthday.  Here she is with her in-laws, Neil and Kathy.

Lydia on her mark,  Wizzle being consumed by her bib and going for Birdie’s bracelet, Eden attacking her mayo, no time for a picture and Ren…goodness!…I think she’s happy, but she might have been having a seizure.
Charlie and Josh are friends of Torey and David’s from grad school.  I think you all know that tall drink of water on the right, Handsome Paul H.

The Birthday Girl and her man.

Here is the little, not quite five and a half year old putting petunias on the iron candelabra.  She was wearing her princess dress and singing softly.
