Overheard at the Watercooler

January 31, 2007 by Alison Hodgson 1 Comment

“You will always be my cousin.” Eden said.

“Yes!” Ren agreed.

“You will never be Satan’s cousin.”

“No!’

“You will be my cousin forever and ever.”

I have been sick.

Eden got came down with it last (as in, well over a week ago) Saturday and has been a snivelling, coughing, middle of the night waking wreck of a Bean.

You know things aren’t going your way when a child awakes screaming at 11:00 p.m. and your first thought is “Thank God it’s not 3 a.m.”

The miles of snot I have wiped this week…

So I’m tired.

But I think we are all on the mend.

Mother and Child

It’s good to be peaceful and sweet with this child.

Apparently I can’t cross my eyes.

As we waited for the picture to be taken we smiled at each other and I saw how similar we are.
