Saturday we decided to take a hike. We chose a park near our home that we’ve never visited. It is reputed to be a “dog’s paradise” so we brought along Jack.
Most of the trails meandered through the hilly woods. Eden is not exactly an iron woman in the best circumstances and so, facing an icy incline, she wasn’t thrilled.
Early on Christopher was perky and alert. I think the fresh air was a shock to his system as he, temporarily, forgot to tease his sisters.
Never fear, he was soon back on his game, wrestling a stick away from Eden. He had had it first, but her argument was that it was the perfect size.
She was not pleased.
We had a map and Lydia was happy to read it. Please note the compass and whistle hanging around her neck. Yes, I bought it for her, but never would have thought to bring it, let alone known where it was.
This was Eden’s new stick. She was happy because it was twice as long as the one lost to her brother. I didn’t take any pictures for a while, being too busy holding Eden’s hand and jollying her along the way. All told we walked over an hour.
Back at the parking lot I was effusive about Eden’s strength in going soooo far and asked her to show her muscles.
I don’t know what she’s doing here. I certainly didn’t request it, but we’ll call it a bonus.
A close up seemed prudent.
Lydia wanted to demonstrate her strength too.
Christopher was willing.
As was Paul.
Jack just wanted to get back in the van and have a little snooze.
You’ll have to take my word that I was there too.
