Never say die

April 10, 2008 by Alison Hodgson 3 Comments

I don’t think the Mactography is ever going to go away, my friends.  And why should it?

I was checking my e-mail and beside me was this adorable kid sweetly eating her sandwich.  I turned my laptop and took her picture.  She decided it would be better if she was sitting on my lap.

I was happy with the first picture and closed photo booth when I noticed this pose.  You can’t shut down that sort of beauty, not when capture is at hand.

She started to tweak her hair, when Jackie decided to do a little counter shopping.
I knew we needed one more with that hair.  She agreed.  Aren’t you glad?  Yes, I am still wearing my pajamas when it’s pushing noon.  I torked my back this morning and the giant, red Ibuprofen is just now kicking in.  Thankfully, I had already worked out and walked the dog with Paul.  Most of school we did on my bed, but we did it.

For Real

March 16, 2008 by Alison Hodgson 4 Comments

Given my druthers I would have selected silver, but it was this or a metallic blue.  Regardless, it works and fits in my pocket.  And yes, we did buy the extended service plan.  It covers everything except for loss and theft.  As long as you have even a weensy portion of the camera, you can trot into Best Buy and get a replacement IMMEDIATELY.   Omitting the need to mail it anywhere guarantees we won’t go a year without a (handheld) camera ever again.

The end of an excellent run

March 15, 2008 by Alison Hodgson 4 Comments

“So I’m thinking about buying a camera.”  I mentioned to my wee niece, Willa.

“You mean the kind that doesn’t have a computer attached to it?”  She asked.
“Yes,”  I said, “the other kind is called a laptop, and the camera is sort of secondary.”
She had no idea.  “But how will you document our rich and loving relationship?”
I wasn’t sure.  “Maybe we could get someone to take our picture.”
She asked about rocking the boat and trying to fix something that ain’t broke.
I mentioned picture quality.
“Schmality!”  She squeaked.
Don’t tell her we took a trip to Best Buy today.

Happy “Valentime’s” Day

February 14, 2008 by Alison Hodgson 1 Comment

Paul went in a little late today so we could have a Valentine’s breakfast together.  He made the waffles and I made strawberry smoothies.    It was really simple but the kids were very happy.  I love Valentine’s Day.

Who else was on the bed with me today:

Willa Z. does NOT like having her diaper changed.

She is intrigued by her own reflection.

She can’t really do very much.

But what she can she does brilliantly.
