Baby, It’s Cold Outside

January 21, 2008 by Alison Hodgson 4 Comments

Try 5 degrees with a wind chill of 75 below (or something very cold) at the normal time we walk Jackie Boy.  Last night Paul looked at the weather and said, “Not gonna do it.”

Of course he doesn’t take Jack to work with him.  That’s my privilege.
We should be starting school in nine minutes, but I don’t know if I can.  I have been up since 5:00 but I didn’t bounce out of bed, it was more of a slither.  I snuggled under a quilt on the couch and did a little writing.  Paul came out a little before six.  “So this is it?”  He asked.  I got up and ran back to bed.  I have been here pretty much since.  That is not the good makings of a Monday morning.
The kids are wanting to observe Martin Luther King’s birthday by watching videos and playing Wii.  I can see their point.
Am now going to shut this and spring out of bed like a daisy or a bunny…maybe a puma.
I’ll let you know.
It goes without saying –  but I will say it – no baby, although Torey sent me an e-mail a little after midnight saying, “I think I’m going to have her today” and, according to Ren, God says this is it too.
Isn’t Monday’s Child fair of face?  That works.
Guess what day I was born.

Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

For those who don’t have these sort of things rattling around in their memories.

Perhaps you occupy that space with the continual knowledge of where your keys or purse/wallet is.

We have six below and lots of snow at our house this morning, but at least yesterday’s wind has died down. It was bitter.

I found a good calendar site at timeanddate.com where you can find the calendar for any year. Apparently I am bonny and blithe, good and gay. Who knew?

I never updated. I was Wednesday’s child. Boo hoo hoo! This could explain a lot.
