Oh Kids, we don’t have any half and half. We don’t even have the powdered creamer I keep for back up. I am facing a Monday morning without coffee.
I have brewed up some red tea and it’s sitting there in a pretty mug trying to look all fetching… but it’s not coffee. I asked Paul what he was going to do about this, being the man of the family and all. He hasn’t gotten back to me on that.
I should mention that it’s raining which is fantastic for the soil and for making wet dogs, if you like that, but I don’t, particularly in my living room (soil or wet dogs, although both have a way of getting in, especially if men, who ought to be on missions to secure properly creamed coffee, open the door).
Have I mentioned that it’s Monday morning and that we are embarking on our third week of school?
If you don’t see all the components of a Sad Oprah you haven’t been reading this blog long enough.
An update:
Paul asked if I could hold on for another hour as he is willing to pick me up something after his first meeting.
I’m going to hold on.
Perhaps by now you are enjoying your coffee. What a good man you have.
I am going to go make my tea now, but would really enjoy just the smell of your coffee.
Good to have you back.
