Joining the ranks of Oliver Twist, Jane Eyre and David Copperfield…

September 7, 2005 by Alison Hodgson 10 Comments

is my son, C. Riley. This morning I asked him to shut two doors I had left open on a cupboard in the living room.

He obeyed then whined, “But Mom, I hate it when you treat me like an orphan.”

Does anyone know how to make gruel?

Ok, you must go into your settings mode and select something called “word verification.” This will hold the spammers at bay.

    Love the story.

    The sun’ll come out tomorrow…

    Geesh Sherry C,

Don’t be such a cyber killjoy! Anonymous needs a voice in this world, too. Haven’t you ever heard of freedom of speech?!

(Actually, babe, your blog comments section was beginning to resemble a spam homeless shelter.)

LOL – Em tells me that I treat her like a slave anytime I tell her to stop climbing on something (like the furniture, the counters, the ceiling..)

    mrsfish,

You are one mean lady. A slave makes sense. I have got to get to the bottom of this, I know it’s a book, but what one?

Just wait until he sees the Brady Bunch episode where Bobby realizes he is just a ‘step.’ Pretty soon they’ll all be decrying themselves as step-orphan-slaves!

P.S. Nice word verification. Now I’m the only one who will be able to shill antique cat furniture on your blog. 🙂

    KMJ,

Bring it on Stistah! Was it antique or discount? I was thinking discount. Please don’t try and scam my audience I only want the best for them on all counts including cat furniture, of course. OK I am actually giggling out loud at the thought of discount cat furniture spam. Too much.

    mrsfish,

Bingo. Lemony Snicket. How could I forget. He is associating me with Count Olaf. Wretched child. Thank you.
