would you let me know as I seem to have misplaced it…looks like I’m missing most of October too… Oh Bother.
Three Things Thursday
I had a really good brief trilogy but it would be filed under “Almost too much information” and I would rather not open that file every day.
Hmmm….
1. I am second in a family of four: boy, girl, boy, girl.
2.I always thought I would have at least 4 kids.
3. I have three kids: a boy, a girl and after a five year hiatus, another girl.
Brevity, Baby – I can do it!
Hearing
The boy is back on sound. I am happy to say the processor rides again or something. C. Riley can hear.
Speaking of hearing, today at the library, Beanie was talking about something small and then she paused to clarify, “It was wadder small.” “Wadder” the rest of us call it rather. I must qualify and clarify everything. She already says, “Axcelly” because apparently, I begin every other sentence with actually.
I’m just waiting for apparently.
My Professional Life
Yesterday I cleaned, did laundry, taught school, helped extricate a poo lodged in a Bean’s bum, rescued a processor from the toilet, saved a Bean from choking on three quarters and then assisted her while she worked out another job on the potty.
As I wiped the saliva off the quarters I thought, “This is my life. This is my job.”
It is a humbling gig, and yet I am proud.
File this under, “Things you never want to hear”
“Mom, my processor fell in the toilet.”
That would be the $6,ooo one, the same one that enables him to hear, the very one that doesn’t have a warranty, yeah, that one.
I threw back my head and did my best impression of “The Scream” then hustled around to get his little briefcase of stuff that goes with it and did the things I knew to do. We are waiting for it to dry. He has fallen into a pool before and it survived. Another child fell in a lake and his made it.
I am going to pray. I already apologized for freaking everyone out.
Once years ago, I was on the phone with my brother in California. He heard ice clinking in my glass and asked what I was drinking, “By the grace of God, it’s water.”
