Staggering out this afternoon after I nap I noted a picture with “Dearest Mom and Dad” scrawled at the top of a drawing of a turkey getting shot by an odd-looking hunter. Turning it over I read the pre-printed “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1.
Apparently Christopher had made Paul and me a Thanksgiving card at Sunday School today.
“Is that a hunter shooting the turkey?” I asked.
“A storm trooper,” Paul answered.
Oh, of course.
“It is a storm trooper shooting the turkey in the bottom and the turkey is gobbling furiously,” the artist added and then gave an example of a furious gobble.
You can’t even imagine.

Actually, I can imagine.

You are one of the (to be pitied) few

I should amend that. Those of us who can imagine, know the lad and are grateful.
It is for the bleeding ears that sometimes accompany knowing the lad for which we merit pity.
