Well, you fans of The Bean, the girl has a new hobby. She has taken to picking her nose and then placing her excavations on the covers of books.
“Look, dere’s somefeen ucky from ma nooooose.”
I looked and she was right.
Boogie removal…just one more facet of my professional life.

Tonight we had a friend over and Beanie took a real shine to him. This meant she was constantly asking him questions or telling him things.
In the middle of nothing, “You like pizza?” Her eyes were downcast and she asked it somewhat shamefully. Fortunately he liked pizza.
“Das Alson,” referring to me.
I can’t remember the rest, but she was all big eyed and smiling when not looking furtive and sheepish.
Tonight, tucking her in I remarked “Aren’t you glad that Mr. Maier was able to visit.”
“Yes…he’s a daddy.”
This is a 30 year old man, to whom I used to give rides when he was in junior high and now he is a father and recognized as such by my third baby.
At times (OK, always) I forget I am almost middle-aged.

Earlier in the day Beanie had her hair cut at my “saloon” as C. Riley calls it, not for a lack of correction. His hair was cut first. I was a little sad when I saw him shorn. It is still longer than he wore it in the past, but he has lost that summery, shaggy, surfer look. I know it needed to go as on any given day it could morph into a Ted Kaczinski style, which is really not happening, unless you send bombs through the mail.
Beansie was next. Our stylist draped the robe on her and had her stand on the floor in front of the mirror. Her smile was so big she was shining. She was just thrilled to be there, getting her hair cut, admiring her beauty.
I am telling you, she was so adorable, if she wasn’t my girl already, I would have stolen her.
